Research Interests

I’m interested in insect sensory systems (especially the visual system), how these sensory systems affect the host choices of phytophagous insects, and how these host choices structure the distribution of these insects in space and time. Much of my research has involved the Western Canadian canola agro-ecosystem and its pests. My study organisms have included Cabbage Seedpod Weevil, Diamondback Moth, Root-Maggot Flies, Flea Beetles and most recently the Cabbage White Butterfly.
