Sara and I headed out last weekend to Locarno Beach Park in search of the Mountain Bluebird. The bird was surrounded by photographers and was easy to find. The bluebird spent a bunch of time perching on the beach volleyball posts. Most of the photographers ignored the bird while it perched on the these posts waiting for the opportunity to photograph the bird on a more natural perch. This seems odd to me as bluebirds seems to almost exclusively perch on fenceposts in their breeding range.
