With this week’s photo we return to Cypress Mountain. I was quite taken with this striking Indian Hellebore. Indian Hellebore is common in cold wet subalpine meadows. In addition to its striking flowers this species is highly poisonous with the ingestion of even small amount causing loss of consciousness and eventual death. I suppose it is a good thing that this species is easily separated from other costal lilies with edible bulbs.
