I found out from Sean that it is National Pollinator Week and in honor of that, this weeks photo is of this handsome bumblebee drone. I’m still working on the ID but I did learn in my research that bumblebee drones have 11 flagellomere as opposed to 10 in queens and workers. I’m leaning towards Sitka Bumble Bee (Bombus sitkensis) but I’m not sure. If you have any ideas I have posted a few more shots on BugGuide.
