This week brings yet another photo from Iona Island. Photos from another locality next week I promise and I really will post about this trip soon. This week’s photo is of the beautiful but invasive Yellow Iris. This species is listed as a noxious invasive weed in parts of BC and in most of the US. BC does have two native Iris species but both of these are blue to purple in color. Vancouver and especially Iona Island is full of introduced species, between the Himalayan Blackberry and Scotch Broom it can sometimes be hard to find any native plants.
