Last week I took a trip out to Blackie Spit in search for shorebirds. I had great luck working my way along the beach and I was able to carefully approach a flock of juvenile Western Sandpipers to within two meters. I was also got some good shots of the flocks in flight. Later on I was able to get some photos of the somewhat confused Long-billed Curlew that has been hanging around Blackie Spit for months and had recently shacked up with a Marbled Godwit.
